~ How long is the childrens portrait party?
Parties generally run 1-2 hours, depending upon the number of children being professionally photographed.
~ What does the hostess provide?
As hostess, you provide the location and any snacks or beverages you would care to serve. Defining Imagery is only responsible for providing the camera gear necessary for creating the children's portraits.
~ What is the best location in my home for the party?
Indoor locations should have plenty of natural window light. If you allow Jo Anne to have the run of the house to work with, it will give her even more opportunities for creativity and ideal conditions, but of course, it is your house and you reserve the right to decline the use of any particular rooms.
Outdoor locations should have overhead shade, such as a large tree or a patio roof overhang.
~ How should I dress my child for his/her portrait?
Bare feet and children are a winning combination!
Bare-chested little boys in overalls are timelessly adorable. Tutus and hats on little girls are sweetness personified. JoAnne loves variety, so clothing changes are encouraged! Avoid clothing with busy patterns such as checks, plaids, and prints. Don't let clothing distract from your child's precious face!
Parent's should be dressed for photos as well in case an unexpected opportunity arises to be included in the image.

~ What about props?
Bring your child's favorite doll or cuddly toy. They make great props and show off that precious little personality.
For the slightly older kids, team uniforms, sports balls, baseball mitts, etc., reveal their interests and accomplishments!
~ Are there any age limits?
Children up to high school seniors are more than welcome!
~ Will you photograph siblings together?
Siblings can be photographed together. You may select one pose per child and that pose can be of the child alone, with a paid sibling, or with one parent. Just keep in mind that wallet sized images work best for a single child, and defiinitely not for more than two children.
~ May I bring my other children if they are not being photographed?
Please do NOT bring children with you who are not being photographed! We cannot emphasize this strongly enough! They will
feel very left out!!! All children attending the party must be paid for and included in the session.
~ What if my child is ill the day of the party?
Kids get sick - don't panic! Runny noses and icky fevers don't make for good pictures. If the little ones wake up sick on picture day, and you're hosting, please contact your guests and arrange to relocate the party to one of their homes, and notify us of the location change ASAP. If it's sincerely not possible to relocate, we will reschedule the date for you. If two or more of your guests are ill and cannot attend, please notify us as soon as possible so we may best determine how to proceed.
~ Can I book a portrait party as a school fundraiser?
